3 months...ok 3 1/2 months

Yes... I am late. But it seems like every time I think about writing a post something happens! Shocker, right?

This has been a big month for Abigail. She has accomplished SO many things. It has been so fun to watch her grow..but I am sad to see some of the sweet newborn things leave. What  I miss most is her falling asleep on me, or being able to rock her to sleep. Those are sweet times, but she is wanting to fall asleep on her own now.

Measurements:
Weight: (at two month appt) weighed 12.5 length: 22.5. But She has definitely grown. So these are not accurate

Diapers:
Size 1. We still are LOVING cloth diapering. They are truly super easy... and yes it is gross having to put them in the washing machine but that is was extra long, super duty gloves are for!

Clothes:
HA... she has been in 3 mo clothes for a long time but in most of those now she is busting at the seams so we are slowly transitioning to 3-6 month clothes!

Schedule:
She is on the eat-awake-sleep schedule right now. She is an efficient eater so it only takes her about 10 minutes to eat and then she is normally up for about an hour and a half. Then she sleeps for about 2 hours. She is on a  3- 3 1/2 hour schedule.

Sleeping:
I can now put her in her swing awake and she falls asleep. Most of the time it only takes crying for a few minutes and if I stick her paci back in she is zonked! haha. Today she has cried and just fallen asleep without me having to go back in there.

Eating:
She eats like a champ. She has days where she acts like she isn't satisfied, but most days she is just plum happy!

Likes:
She LOVES to smile at people. She loves people and being around new people. She loves her play mat that she got for Christmas from Nana and Papa. She likes her paci. She has been working on those hands, shoving them in her mouth. She is beginning to find her thumb which I am not sure if I am happy about that. haha.

Dislikes:
For the most part she is a very calm, happy girl. She is only fussy when she is hungry, tired, or having tummy issues with her reflux.

Milestones:
BIG STUFF: She will laugh if you tickle her neck. She sometime laughs back at you if you laugh at her. She coos a lot throughout the day. Her neck is strong enough now that she can sit in a bumbo or in an exercauser and play. TODAY she rolled over from her back to her belly (I will attach a video). I am sure there are more!

I will leave you with pictures from the month!

Sleepy Owl!

She is out! So precious!

GIG EM!!

Look at that eye brow! HA! "hey, what is this thing?"

2 months!

My sweet baby girl is two months already! Man the time sure has flown! Isn't she so beautiful! I know I am biased but that is one sure kid there!

This past month has had its challenges for sure. Around week 4 Abigail started to get really fussy and unconsolable for several hours at a time. At first I just thought it was a growth spurt and in a day or two it would go away. Well a week goes by and she is still screaming for a good 2 hours in the evening. I talked to a doctor friend and he said it sounded like colic. buh buh buh. Not what a mommy wants to hear. The past several weeks have been a challenge learning how to help her, what not to do, what is comforting to her, etc.

Then last week this sweet girl started showing symptoms of thrush. So she had a purple mouth for a day or so. It seems to be getting better with each day!

On the flip side, Abigail has become for vocal. It is so fun to "talk" with her. Her cooing is one of my favorite things along with her precious smiles. I can't get enough of them.

She has been turning on her side (or attempting to) for the past few weeks now. Which makes this momma nervous since her neck muscles aren't that strong yet.

At night she sleeps anywhere from 5 hrs to 7 hrs. Woo hoo! I never thought that I would be so ecstatic about getting a full 5 hours of sleep but oh man is it great!

I have no idea how much she weighs but I do know she is getting heavier with each day and longer too. She's a good little eater!  haha! We have a doctors appointment next week so hopefully we can find something out soon! My mom thinks she is about 11 lbs.

Over Thanksgiving she got to hang out with her cousin Grayson for a week and it was so funny to see them together. Gray is a few months older and so interactive. It gave me so much to look forward to!  somehow I didn't take any pictures of the two of them together but it was adorable!

I'll leave you with some pictures!

She is all smiles!

Tummy time.

Meet Abigail Grace!

Well the past few weeks have been a whirlwind. We are so blessed to finally have our little girl with us. She is an AMAZING baby. So calm and content! She loves her sleep and she loves to eat! I feel like we are starting to get into a rhythm now which has been really helpful.

Jeff was able to take off the first 2 1/2 weeks after Abigail was born. What a blessing! He has been such a big help around the house and an AMAZING dad. I love looking at him when he is taking care of Abigail. I love him more and more every time I see it.

Here is the story of how the birth went down!

I went in to be induced Monday night, October 8th. I started having pretty intense contractions Tuesday morning. I was planning on getting an epidural and boy am I thankful I did. (The ladies that don't... you ROCK.)

I was progressing pretty slowly at first but then I was quickly dilated to a 6. Well I stayed at a 6 for several hours with no progression. My doctor came at 4:30 to recheck and talk about what is to come. At that point he told me he didn't see any progression. Then he gave me some options. He said we could wait another 2 hours and see what happens or we could go ahead and put you on the schedule for a c section. There was someone in the OR at that time so it would be 2 hours before I had the surgery anyway. After talking we decided to go ahead and book the OR but that he would come and check me in an hour and a half to see if any more progress had been made.

An hour and a half later... no progress. At that time we were all business. I just wanted a healthy and happy baby. I was physically and emotionally exhausted.  (as you can see from the picture)

They got us all prepped and they wheeled me to the OR.

Needless to say our daughter had to big of a head for my body. My doctor said if I had tried to push her it would have been a VERY bad situation. So needless to say I am very thankful for my doctors wisdom and for modern technology that we have now.
If you look closely at the top of her head you can see where she was stuck and how she had a LOT more head to try to fit. haha

8 lbs 11 oz. 20 1/2 inches long. Healthy Baby girl!

The grandmas are swooning!

About to leave the hospital to go home!
Here are pictures from the past month with our little girl!

I can't help but smile when I see this picture!

One proud daddy
One minute she was happy....
The next minute sad! haha. Not really. :)

First golf lesson from daddy!

Halloween 2012- Our pretty Ballerina!

Silly faces
"What are you doing mom?" haha. One month old!
I can not believe how much she has grown! The first month has been a blessing! We love you Abigail!

39 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:

How Far Along: 39 weeks

Fruit/Veggie: She is now the weight of a mini watermelon.
Size: a little over 7 pounds and about 20 inches long

Baby Changes: Abigail continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. ( boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

Best Moment this week: This week has been a lot of time at home. Which is a huge blessing. On Thursday I helped my hubby build the frame of a chicken coop for our back yard. Friday we got to spend some time catching up with friends! Sunday I got a mani/pedi with my mother in law and then later that night got to go on a long walk with some close friends to try to get Abigail to come! It was just a sweet, restful week!

Gender: precious girl, Abigail Grace

Movement: She is still pretty active everyday. My husband says she is running a marathon everyday because she moves SO much.

Food/Drink Craving: Not to many cravings this week. Just cold ice water.

Sleep: Sleep changes with each night. Most nights it takes me a long time to fall asleep because I get this extra burst of energy. But throughout the night I am tossing and turning trying to get comfortable and then having to get up at least twice to use the restroom.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting our little girl.  My parents got back on Monday from helping my brother and sister in law with their newborn in Hawaii. So apparently Abigail is allowed to come now! haha :) I have wanted her to come for the past several weeks!

Symptoms: My feet and hands are getting more and more swollen with each day which is causing my feet to ache a lot more. I have some contractions throughout the day but nothing regular or consistent to be true labor.

Hopefully the next time I update I will have a little one in my arms! How crazy is that?!

38 Weeks down... 2 left to go!

I'm at that stage where Abigail can come any time now. And to be honest it is kinda nerve racking. When my husband leaves for work, I wonder will I go into labor while he is gone. And when I leave the house to go anywhere, I wonder will my water break while I am away? This has been the past few days. My bags are packed, everything is ready to go, now we are just anticipating when she will come.

Not only that, but the other night I kept having dreams of me going into labor, or so I thought. I would get to the hospital, spend the night there, just for them to tell me I wasn't in labor yet. I seriously had the same dream over and over again. It was an awful feeling to continuously get to the hospital and be turned down. What I do know is that through this time the Lord is teaching me to be patient and that He has the perfect timing for when Miss Abigail will arrive. So it doesn't matter if Jeff is at work, or if  my water breaks when I am out... it will be the exact time of when it is suppose to happen.

Exciting news is I am an aunt again! My brother Adam and his wife Laura had their second daughter Monday afternoon. Here is a picture of Miss Caelan the next morning!
She was 8lbs 2.7oz and 19 inches long! And my sister in law is a pro. 2 pushes and she arrived! :) I wish I could fly to Hawaii right now and see them and hold her!

But here is an update on Abigail and I.

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:

How Far Along: 38 weeks

Fruit/Veggie: She is now as long as a leek

Size: about 7 pounds and is around 19 or 20 inches long

Baby Changes: Abigail's intestines have accumulated a considerable amount of meconium (the code name for black, tar-like baby poop). Jeff's job after labor to teach him how to change diapers! :)  She might just scratch himself in the womb as his fingernails have probably grown over the fingertips now. Her lungs continue to mature and his brain and nerve function are working better every day.

She is tending to a few last-minute details like shedding the skin-protecting vernix and lanugo. She's also producing more surfactant, a substance that prevents the air sacs in her lungs from sticking to one another once he starts to breathe.

Best Moment this week: My niece was born on monday! Also, Jeff and I were watching the Avengers on the couch and I was leaning against him cuddling up. Abigail kept kicking and hitting his arm. It was a neat moment. Jeff and kept laughing and saying "Mija why are you kicking me!" (mija is short for mi hija in spanish meaning my daugther or baby girl. Its his nickname for Abigail and I LOVE it.)

Gender: precious girl, Abigail Grace.

Movement: She is slowing down her movements, but they are a lot more powerful. It is funny though sometimes when I sit down or lay down and look at my stomach you can see her adjusting or turning over. It is the neatest thing!

Food/Drink Craving: java chocolate chunk ice cream, and hard boiled eggs.

Sleep: Sleep isn't too bad once I fall asleep. The other night I literally was WIDE awake till almost 2am. And that was without a nap during the day. I was so frustrated and tired. My doctor told me I could take tylenol pm, so the past few nights I have been taking one and that has helped tremendously with falling asleep.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting our little one! (to be honest I am a little nervous and scared too)I have been super thankful for the sweet time that Jeff and I have had to spend together the past few weeks. Jeff has a unique work schedule. He works 24 hours then he is off 48 hours so the time during the days he is off has been really special!

Symptoms: My feet and hands are more swollen then they have been. She is getting lower so there is more pressure when I walk or stand. Everything in general is a little more difficult to do at this point! :)

37 Weeks

ONLY 3 weeks people!!
That statement is still crazy. Every week we get closer and closer to my due date not only do I get more and more nervous but I think back to the spring and remember thinking  that october is a long time from now.

I thought it would be fun to see when yall think I will go into labor! My opinion changes almost daily! haha. So... comment when you think I will have baby Abigail!

For all those moms out there, what are things that are a must for when you go to the hospital. I have my bags packed already but if there things that you suggest from experience I would love to hear!

I don't have much else this week but here is the update!

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:
How Far Along: 37 weeks (she is now officially "full term")

Fruit/Veggie: Length of a swiss chard. Ok seriously... I don't even know what this is! Why can't they use normal fruit and veggies that everyone has heard of. Is this just me?

Size: about 19 inches and 6 1/3 pounds

Baby Changes: The baby is considered full term now. Most likely if I were to go into labor now Abigail wouldn't need any additional help with breathing. Her lungs would be fully developed!

Abigail is putting on weight at a very fast pace during the 37 weeks pregnant stage. The fat is getting deposited on her cheeks, knees and elbows and these are becoming dimpled due to fat deposition. She is putting on weight at the rate of ½ ounce per day.

Her skin is fast losing its wrinkled appearance and the skin colour is becoming pinker. She is breathing very well by now. She  weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (just an average).

Best Moment this week: I had another ultrasound this past week. Abigail looks great. You can see her chubby little cheeks!
Sorry it is kinda blurry.
Look at those chubby cheeks!

Gender: GIRL! Abigail Grace

Movement: She is pushing around alot. Slower harder movements. She is definitely running out of room.

Food/Drink Craving: Really anything sweet. Mainly chocolate ice cream or java chocolate chunk ice cream from HEB (seriously the best ice cream ever).

Sleep: Sleep has seemed to improved.. or I have jus t adjusted to this new norm. I wake up a few times to use the restroom and another few times because my hip or something else is hurting but I fall right back to sleep. I do wake up more groggy in the mornings the past few days but I think that just comes with the job right now!

What I am looking forward to: The cushions are about finished for our glider! I am excited to put them in the nursery. Everything else is as ready as it can be so now I am just looking forward to meeting Abigail.

Symptoms: I have had some braxton hicks contractions this past week. They haven't been too bad but they are not the most comfortable thing I have ever felt! Abigail has dropped a little so I rarely have heartburn now which is great! Since she has dropped though I have a lot more pressure on my lower abdomen which makes it uncomfortable to stand or walk around for too long.

Tata for now! Don't forget to comment when you think I will have Abigail!

Only 5 weeks to go!

I still can't believe it is already September and I only have to wait till October to meet this little one! The countdown has begun.

This past week has been extremely productive and I am so thankful! My goal was to finish Abigail's room by the end of August just in case she decided to come early! We have pretty much finished everything! It is now just the little stuff we are lacking. Here is what this pretty girls room looks like! (Excuse all the stuff on the floor that hasn't been put away yet. I might change the layout too! we will see!)

Remember that nightstand? Looks awesome huh?
Not only were we productive in Abigail's room but my awesome hubby finished the buffet table for our kitchen! He did and AMAZING job! It is beautiful! Just what I wanted!

Jeff and I also wanted to do one last special trip before the baby came. We didn't go out of town but we had an amazing time! We stayed at the La Salle hotel in downtown Bryan(awesome by the way), we ate REALLY amazing sushi (shameless plug... if you ever want amazing sushi in town the place to go is 40 Tempura. Not only is the sushi just amazing but the service is phenomenal) , had really good conversations, had milk and cookies before bed... it was just wonderful! Here are some pictures!

Ummm... yeh we didn't really enjoy it. :) can't you tell!

Thanks La Salle!

This  boy really enjoys his milk!

Now for the update on Miss Abigail!

Pregnancy Highlights this Week:

How Far Along: 35 weeks

Size of baby: {weight of} a honeydew melon

Measurements: almost 18 inches, 5 1/4 pounds

Baby Milestones: Her kidneys are fully developed now and liver can process some waste products, basic physical development is now complete, will spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Best Moment this week: Going to the La Salle with my hubby!

Gender: girl!! Abigail Grace

Movement: she is still moving a lot but it has slowed down! She is not moving near as much as she was last week.

Food/Drink Craving: still wanting beef!

Sleep: What is this thing you call sleep? :) haha just kidding. I struggle getting and staying comfortable still. I am tossing and turning all night and then I have to use the restroom at least 2-3 times a night.

Symptoms: heartburn has been getting worse, lower back and hip pain, and just overall lack of energy!
