38 Weeks down... 2 left to go!

I'm at that stage where Abigail can come any time now. And to be honest it is kinda nerve racking. When my husband leaves for work, I wonder will I go into labor while he is gone. And when I leave the house to go anywhere, I wonder will my water break while I am away? This has been the past few days. My bags are packed, everything is ready to go, now we are just anticipating when she will come.

Not only that, but the other night I kept having dreams of me going into labor, or so I thought. I would get to the hospital, spend the night there, just for them to tell me I wasn't in labor yet. I seriously had the same dream over and over again. It was an awful feeling to continuously get to the hospital and be turned down. What I do know is that through this time the Lord is teaching me to be patient and that He has the perfect timing for when Miss Abigail will arrive. So it doesn't matter if Jeff is at work, or if  my water breaks when I am out... it will be the exact time of when it is suppose to happen.

Exciting news is I am an aunt again! My brother Adam and his wife Laura had their second daughter Monday afternoon. Here is a picture of Miss Caelan the next morning!
She was 8lbs 2.7oz and 19 inches long! And my sister in law is a pro. 2 pushes and she arrived! :) I wish I could fly to Hawaii right now and see them and hold her!

But here is an update on Abigail and I.

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:

How Far Along: 38 weeks

Fruit/Veggie: She is now as long as a leek

Size: about 7 pounds and is around 19 or 20 inches long

Baby Changes: Abigail's intestines have accumulated a considerable amount of meconium (the code name for black, tar-like baby poop). Jeff's job after labor to teach him how to change diapers! :)  She might just scratch himself in the womb as his fingernails have probably grown over the fingertips now. Her lungs continue to mature and his brain and nerve function are working better every day.

She is tending to a few last-minute details like shedding the skin-protecting vernix and lanugo. She's also producing more surfactant, a substance that prevents the air sacs in her lungs from sticking to one another once he starts to breathe.

Best Moment this week: My niece was born on monday! Also, Jeff and I were watching the Avengers on the couch and I was leaning against him cuddling up. Abigail kept kicking and hitting his arm. It was a neat moment. Jeff and kept laughing and saying "Mija why are you kicking me!" (mija is short for mi hija in spanish meaning my daugther or baby girl. Its his nickname for Abigail and I LOVE it.)

Gender: precious girl, Abigail Grace.

Movement: She is slowing down her movements, but they are a lot more powerful. It is funny though sometimes when I sit down or lay down and look at my stomach you can see her adjusting or turning over. It is the neatest thing!

Food/Drink Craving: java chocolate chunk ice cream, and hard boiled eggs.

Sleep: Sleep isn't too bad once I fall asleep. The other night I literally was WIDE awake till almost 2am. And that was without a nap during the day. I was so frustrated and tired. My doctor told me I could take tylenol pm, so the past few nights I have been taking one and that has helped tremendously with falling asleep.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting our little one! (to be honest I am a little nervous and scared too)I have been super thankful for the sweet time that Jeff and I have had to spend together the past few weeks. Jeff has a unique work schedule. He works 24 hours then he is off 48 hours so the time during the days he is off has been really special!

Symptoms: My feet and hands are more swollen then they have been. She is getting lower so there is more pressure when I walk or stand. Everything in general is a little more difficult to do at this point! :)

37 Weeks

ONLY 3 weeks people!!
That statement is still crazy. Every week we get closer and closer to my due date not only do I get more and more nervous but I think back to the spring and remember thinking  that october is a long time from now.

I thought it would be fun to see when yall think I will go into labor! My opinion changes almost daily! haha. So... comment when you think I will have baby Abigail!

For all those moms out there, what are things that are a must for when you go to the hospital. I have my bags packed already but if there things that you suggest from experience I would love to hear!

I don't have much else this week but here is the update!

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:
How Far Along: 37 weeks (she is now officially "full term")

Fruit/Veggie: Length of a swiss chard. Ok seriously... I don't even know what this is! Why can't they use normal fruit and veggies that everyone has heard of. Is this just me?

Size: about 19 inches and 6 1/3 pounds

Baby Changes: The baby is considered full term now. Most likely if I were to go into labor now Abigail wouldn't need any additional help with breathing. Her lungs would be fully developed!

Abigail is putting on weight at a very fast pace during the 37 weeks pregnant stage. The fat is getting deposited on her cheeks, knees and elbows and these are becoming dimpled due to fat deposition. She is putting on weight at the rate of ½ ounce per day.

Her skin is fast losing its wrinkled appearance and the skin colour is becoming pinker. She is breathing very well by now. She  weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (just an average).

Best Moment this week: I had another ultrasound this past week. Abigail looks great. You can see her chubby little cheeks!
Sorry it is kinda blurry.
Look at those chubby cheeks!

Gender: GIRL! Abigail Grace

Movement: She is pushing around alot. Slower harder movements. She is definitely running out of room.

Food/Drink Craving: Really anything sweet. Mainly chocolate ice cream or java chocolate chunk ice cream from HEB (seriously the best ice cream ever).

Sleep: Sleep has seemed to improved.. or I have jus t adjusted to this new norm. I wake up a few times to use the restroom and another few times because my hip or something else is hurting but I fall right back to sleep. I do wake up more groggy in the mornings the past few days but I think that just comes with the job right now!

What I am looking forward to: The cushions are about finished for our glider! I am excited to put them in the nursery. Everything else is as ready as it can be so now I am just looking forward to meeting Abigail.

Symptoms: I have had some braxton hicks contractions this past week. They haven't been too bad but they are not the most comfortable thing I have ever felt! Abigail has dropped a little so I rarely have heartburn now which is great! Since she has dropped though I have a lot more pressure on my lower abdomen which makes it uncomfortable to stand or walk around for too long.

Tata for now! Don't forget to comment when you think I will have Abigail!

Only 5 weeks to go!

I still can't believe it is already September and I only have to wait till October to meet this little one! The countdown has begun.

This past week has been extremely productive and I am so thankful! My goal was to finish Abigail's room by the end of August just in case she decided to come early! We have pretty much finished everything! It is now just the little stuff we are lacking. Here is what this pretty girls room looks like! (Excuse all the stuff on the floor that hasn't been put away yet. I might change the layout too! we will see!)

Remember that nightstand? Looks awesome huh?
Not only were we productive in Abigail's room but my awesome hubby finished the buffet table for our kitchen! He did and AMAZING job! It is beautiful! Just what I wanted!

Jeff and I also wanted to do one last special trip before the baby came. We didn't go out of town but we had an amazing time! We stayed at the La Salle hotel in downtown Bryan(awesome by the way), we ate REALLY amazing sushi (shameless plug... if you ever want amazing sushi in town the place to go is 40 Tempura. Not only is the sushi just amazing but the service is phenomenal) , had really good conversations, had milk and cookies before bed... it was just wonderful! Here are some pictures!

Ummm... yeh we didn't really enjoy it. :) can't you tell!

Thanks La Salle!

This  boy really enjoys his milk!

Now for the update on Miss Abigail!

Pregnancy Highlights this Week:

How Far Along: 35 weeks

Size of baby: {weight of} a honeydew melon

Measurements: almost 18 inches, 5 1/4 pounds

Baby Milestones: Her kidneys are fully developed now and liver can process some waste products, basic physical development is now complete, will spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Best Moment this week: Going to the La Salle with my hubby!

Gender: girl!! Abigail Grace

Movement: she is still moving a lot but it has slowed down! She is not moving near as much as she was last week.

Food/Drink Craving: still wanting beef!

Sleep: What is this thing you call sleep? :) haha just kidding. I struggle getting and staying comfortable still. I am tossing and turning all night and then I have to use the restroom at least 2-3 times a night.

Symptoms: heartburn has been getting worse, lower back and hip pain, and just overall lack of energy!
